Donna Murray

About:

Donna was born on October 23, 1959 as Donna Voiers in Elkton, MD and currently resides in Charleston, SC. Growing up in Bradley, WVa her creative outlets were music and painting. She was awarded 1st place as a percussionist on the xylophone at WVa university in 9th grade but was always more drawn to the visual arts. At the age of 15 she moved to New Castle, DE where she finished school and began painting as a self taught artist. It wasn't until 2013 that she became serious about art and began her journey into the visual arts. In 2014 she decided to take a risk and move to Charleston, SC where her art career has flourished. She has a unique style as a contemporary/abstract artist and loves to experiment with different techniques to keep up with the latest trends. As an abstract artist her work is continually evolving and her paintings are open to interpretation. Her artwork has been exhibited at Spencer's Gallery in the French Quarter in downtown Charleston, Karen's Korner in Mt Pleasant, several local businesses and became a member in the Charleston Artist Guild. She was also featured in the chamber of commerce article in 2014 as one of Charleston's up and coming artist. Donna's work is currently on display at the Art Mecca of Charleston on King street and in the Plum Goose furniture store in Charleston.
